PPP Officially Suggests Sandiaga Uno to Become Ganjar Pranowo’s Vice Presidential Candidate

Jakarta – The United Development Party (PPP) officially proposed Sandiaga Uno as the vice presidential candidate (cawapres) to accompany potential presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo. Sandiaga’s name will be submitted to the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP).

The proposal was based on the recommendations of the sixth national leadership meeting (rapimnas) of the PPP held at the Sultan Jakarta Hotel on Saturday (June 17, 2023). PPP Secretary-General Arwani Thomafi, who read out the recommendations of the rapimnas, mandated Sandiaga as the vice presidential candidate alongside Ganjar.

“The sixth rapimnas of the PPP assigns you, the sixth rapimnas of the PPP proposes Sandiaga Uno as the vice presidential candidate to accompany presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 Elections,” said Arwani.

Sandiaga’s name will be submitted to PDIP Chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri. Acting Chairman of the PPP, Mardiono, was tasked with advocating for Sandiaga to become the vice presidential candidate.

“The sixth rapimnas of the PPP mandates the Acting Chairman of the PPP, H. Muhamad Mardiono, to convey and advocate for Sandiaga Salahudin Uno as the Vice Presidential Candidate to the Chairwoman of the PDI Perjuangan, Mother Hj. Megawati Soekarnoputri, to accompany Presidential Candidate Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 General Elections,” he stated.

“The sixth rapimnas of the PPP appoints Mr. H. Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno as the Chairman of the national Election Winning Body (Bappilu nasional) of the PPP, with the main task of winning the PPP in the legislative elections, presidential elections, and simultaneous regional elections in 2024,” said Arwani.

For your information, Sandiaga recently joined the PPP on Wednesday (June 14). The PPP’s rapimnas was attended by central executives and representatives from 38 regional offices throughout Indonesia.

“The rapimnas will also discuss the tasks to be assigned to Mr. Sandiaga Salahudin Uno, including his presentation in one of the sessions,” said Achmad Baidowi, Chairman of the PPP Central Executive Board.

“I believe that we need a figure who can lead the electoral campaign to success in the upcoming elections. As we know, Mr. Sandi has a high electoral appeal, so we must assign him tasks that align with his capabilities,” he emphasized.
